My Counselling Approach

I adopt a Person Centred approach to underpin all my work, which means that you, and our relationship together, is at the heart of the therapeutic process. So, rather than directing or telling you how to run your life, I will sit alongside you and support you to explore, make sense of and move on from whatever it is that has prompted you to seek counselling, for yourself.

I offer clients a warm, relaxed and confidential space to be heard, make sense of where they are, think and see things from a different perspective and enable ‘stuck’ clients to move forward.

I am also trained in  a range of other therapeutic approaches and frameworks including CBT, Transactional Analysis and Emotional Intelligence and can draw upon these according to the unique needs of each individual client.

As a trained Couples Counsellor, I utilise these frameworks to work alongside people exploring together  the challenges and/or uncertainties in their relationships, to support them to gain better understanding and be able to move to a healthier place.

I am committed to my own ongoing development as a practitioner, which includes engaging with regular supervision for my work in line with BACP requirements.

Coaching

As an experienced coach, many of my clients choose, when they are ready, to move on to coaching after a period of counselling, to consolidate their learning with more pragmatic support and challenge to set goals and make desired changes in their life and career.
